Abacus International, Asia Pacific’s leading revenue partner for airlines, and Thai Airways have successfully launched Electronic Transitional Automated Tickets (eTAT) to Abacus-connected travel agents in Brunei. Effective 19 January, authorised travel agents are now able to issue electronic tickets on Thai Airways (TG).

The launch will help Thai Airways to penetrate and improve its distribution network of e-ticketing into non-BSP markets like Brunei. eTAT eliminates the need for travel agents to visit the airline ticketing office for ticket issuance, resulting in a boost in productivity, greater convenience and efficiency for travel agents in Brunei.

Thai Airway’s adoption of eTAT is the latest in a growing list of carriers that have already or are planning to adopt the Abacus eTAT platform. The eTAT solution is currently being deployed in Brunei, China, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines and Vietnam.
